Making Monster Helmets and Shields
Let the mess begin in making Monster Helmets and Shields with paper mache. Participants over this two session process will develop and create monster themed helmets and shields. The first day of the process participants will paper their balloon form with a flour and water paste to create the helmet. For the shield, participants will paper a flat cardboard surface with a variety of textures with the flour and water paste. Day two of the session, when the forms are dry, participants paint and decorate the helmet and shield to their scary or not so scary preference.

Giant Monster Head and Body Creation
Participants develop and create their own Giant Monster Head and Body. The first day of the process will begin by papering a chicken wire form with a flour and water paste. For the Monster body a fabric base will be provided with a variety of materials that can be glued on to provide the creepy texture of the creature. The second day of the process is the most fun, it’s all about decorating the Monster Head and Body with a variety of materials and paints including 3D fabric paints. Participants will have a blast adding that special touch in making the most monstrous of creations.

Making Miinsters and Miinsters Environments
Miinsters are the most popular program at the Kids Creature Factory Inc. and these mini-monsters make an excellent single day event or twice the fun in a two day program. The first session will focus on Making Miinsters from the bases of sponge, pipe cleaners and fun fur, participants will learn the trade-marked concept of Making Miinsters. With a huge variety of materials provided the possibilities are endless in creating these one of a kind companionship pieces. Participants will learn about Miinsters Culture Club Canada and all of fun that comes with it including our Adopt a Miinsters program where participants can register for their Official Miinsters Adoption Certificate online for free. The second session will focus entirely of Making Miinsters Environments. A Miinster Environment is a home or resting space for Miinsters. The main component for this session will be cardboard boxes that will be creatively transformed by participants with a variety of materials provided. Participants will have hours of fun developing their own Miinsters Community.

See Green With “Jute” Program
To develop and promote environmental awareness participants will learn about the vast history of the “Jute” plant. Jute has been part of history for thousands of years and is currently making a global come back. It is the most widely used natural fibre next to cotton and has thousands of everyday uses. In this session participants will decorate “Jute Organizers” with a variety of materials, then use them to organize their lives. These handy organizers are great to store everything from comic books to craft tools and materials. “Jute Bags” are also great items for decorating and for practical daily use. Additional Jute items available upon request.

Fun Fleece Knot Hats
This activity is everything is says it is in the title, fun, fleece, knots, and hats. Add some scissors and we are ready to begin the process. Participants will choose from a variety of soft fleece panels, then by cutting long fringe edges on the fleece panels participants will then begin to tie the edges of the fringed panels together. Using different colours and shapes participants will develop their own creative hat to wear. Creative variety is endless when lengths of the fringe and knot sizes determine the final end result look of the hat which can be wild and crazy or conservative and simple. How do you like to wear your Knot Hat?

Monster Tee Designs
Talk about a Monster on your back and front for that matter, this activity lets participants develop and decorate their own personalized Monster t-shirt. Participants will remember their event adventure through creating and decorating items they can wear. All the creepy material to develop the creepiest Monster Tee including 3-D fabric paint and googlie eyes will inspire participants to create the scariest looks ever.

Creepy Corn Candy Decorating
Always back by popular demand is the secret recipe formula of Creepy Corn which is our version of popcorn ball. Participants will be given a popcorn ball to then roll through a variety of candy treats to create a pile of sweet, gooy, deliciousness! The Creepy Corn will then be wrapped for participants to take home to enjoy. Note that this is a nut-free zone for allergy awareness.

Notty or Nice Open Gift Challenge
This ‘pass the parcel meets hot potato meets musical chairs’ game is the event opener. Participants in a circle on the floor or in chairs pass around a large gift wrapped box to music. When the music stops the fun really begins, the participant left holding the gift then will attempt to open the gift package. When the music begins the package must be passed around until the music stops again. Participants will have a blast working through the package layers, some containing contents that are “Nice”, premium novelty items including candy treats, and some not so nice, “Notty”,a variety of creepy, scary, critter type items. Many of the layers will be found to be challenging to open and some will be easier. Once the final centre item is discovered the game is over but not without many highs and lows of anticipation throughout.

Mural Group Drawing and Painting Program
The Mural Group Drawing and Painting program works as a wonderful warm-up exercise for the participants and includes a variety of mediums and techniques. Group Mural exercises encourage team building, self-esteem and social interaction. Drawing with pastel; Painting with hands; Speed drawing and painting is where participants race the clock to create; Blindfolded drawing and painting is when participants create by feel rather than with their eyes for an excellent see no evil exercise; and “Pile It On” mural exercise where participants will glue a variety of textures to a mural to develop a crazy creepy 3-D collage.

His journey in the world of creepy creature creation began after an inspired trip to the beautiful Cozumel, Mexico. Through his extensive history in the hospitality industry and children’s theatre, Douglas brings a refreshing creepy themed twist to family entertainment.

Fast-paced structured workshops designed to keep all participants highly involved for every minute of the session is an important factor for every event. Volunteers are essential for large groups especially for the Kids Creature Factory type of hands-on programs. Workshop curriculums and organization budgets structured to be flexible to the number of participants, age range, event schedule, event type, supplies and materials and location.
